Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
